I was shopping Amazon for a new joystick and took a gander at the game pads.

Started thinking, buttons 1-2-3-4 map perfectly.  In fact, it looks like just about everything could be done simply with a game pad.  Then I started thinking XBOX 360.   Of course, on-line would require XBOX LIVE, which I don't have yet, I'm XBOX SILVER, but for THIS GAME, I would probably go ahead and get it.

The advantages are networking, mahcine configuration, machine performance.  At this point, the only thing that could be bad would be router and ISP.

hmmm.

If you already have a wired xbox 360 controller, just use that.  Windows will automatically recognize it and let you use it on your computer.  same thing if you have a bluetooth card and wireless controller.

Hah, that was so funny I almost started crying.

With the game's current control scheme of clicking where you want to go I can't only imagine playing with a gamepad to be rageinducingly terrible. Maybe with some rework it could be acceptable (but still worse than mouse/kb), left analog for movement, right analog for view etc. But we actually use quite a lot of buttons while we play.

1,2,3,4 Skills.

F1,F2,F3,F4 Consumables.

M,N,H,I,8,9,0 for hero/minion selection.

5,6,7 for minion summoning.

Left/right click.

Tab for score.

In conclusion I feel that playing with a gamepad would be gimped and terrible. RTS' and gamepads don't mix. Even though this is RTS-light.

I play with a flight stick.

any game pad will work with any PC game. All the controller does is emulate key strokes. Any decent gamepad uses drivers you can easily remap keys to the controller with. You'd be a fool to purchase a microsoft game pad when there are better alternatives around that offer the same or more features for cheaper such as logitech.

Thee real problem is movement being mousekeys.

Okay, forgot about all those things.....

I stand horribly corrected.  In my simple-minded defense, I remember reading a post where someone went on about how you only needed 1 key to play UB, as many skill as passive.

Well a lot of commands could be linked to pop up command bubble windows.
